The Town Hall

Windham Town Hall

The Windham Town hall, located at 979 Main Street, is a five story brick building built in 1896. The clock at the top of Town Hall was donated in memory of mill manager Whiting Hayden. The former courthouse had grown too expensive to rent, so the town decided to build its own town hall. President William Taft visited Windham Town Hall in June, 1915. Town Hall once housed the city jail, the library and the courthouse. Inside the building is a vault with the town records and the First Selectman's office, as well as many other municipal offices.
