Bike Trail

Explore Beautiful Willimantic

Willimantic has a lot of beautiful scenery to offer. What better way to get out and experience it than cooling off with a refreshing bike ride.

The additional resurfacing of the 2.5 miles of the Veterans Memorial Greenway from Tuckie Road to the Chaplin town line has increased our continuous multi-use path to over 5 miles, if you start at the Veterans Memorial on the corner of Jackson and Main. Bring the family. The recent approval of the $2.5 million grant will ultimately result in the connection of Hop River State Park trail (to Hartford), The Airline Trail South (to East Hampton) and our Veterans Memorial Greenway.

East Coast Greenway

Linking Cities from maine to Florida

Aiming to connect all the major cities of the East Coast along a continuous, off-road path, the East Coast Greenway spans 3,000 miles from Calais, Maine to Key West, Florida. With the trail now 21 percent open for public use, individuals and communities all along the East Coast are already beginning to enjoy the Greenway's many health and economic benefits. But still, there's much to be done.

Frequently likened to an urban Appalachian Trail, this remarkable trail has the potential to enhance the lives of millions of Americans for generations to come. If you're as excited about the Greenway as we are, help us spread the Greenway vision by telling your friends and families, or find out how you can support the project today. The stronger our support base, the quicker the trail will be completed, and that's good news for non-motorized trail users everwhere!
