Victorian Home Tour

.....Join in on the Fun

The Victorian Home Tour takes place over a weekend once a year and is eagerly anticipated by people all over New England. The Tour gives you the opportunity to experience the incredible Victorian architecture of Willimantic in a unique way. Horse drawn carriages take you on a tour of the Hill Section, and many residents have opened up their homes so that you can get a glimpse inside the historic structures.

Willimantic has more Victorian Houses than any town in America after San Francisco. The Hill section features more than 800 vintage homes as classified by the National Register of Historic Places. These homes are incredible year-round, but on this occasion they are more special than ever.

The tour is presented by the Willimantic Victorian Home Tour, The Windham Textile & History Museum and The Willimantic Victorian Neighborhood Association. It begins on Friday, June 1 with a "Blast of Brass & Pipes Concert". The tours begin on Saturday, and continue on Sunday.

There are other events on this date, such as "Family Day at Memorial Park" takes place on Sunday from Noon until 3 pm. There will be entertainment for children such as vintage cars, a little girl's dress-up tea party, pony rides, crochet and other old fashioned games, and the "Medicine Wagon Show."

There will also be walking tours all over the area and other community events.
