Pine Acres is in Hampton, about 10 miles east of Willimantic.

It was formed in 1933 when a dam was built on Cedar Swamp Brook in order to flood an existing swamp. The surface area of the pond is approximately 130 acres with a maximum depth of 7 feet. Drainage from

the pond is southward into Cedar Swamp Brook and then into the Little River system. The James

Goodwin State Forest borders most of the pond.

Public access is provided at a gravel boat launch, reachable by taking Route 6 to Goodwin State Forest

and turning north onto Potter Road. The launch access road is half a mile from this turn, across from the Goodwin Conservation Center. Car top boats are suggested due to shallow launch conditions. There is parking for five cars, a wildlife viewing stand, hiking trails and a small picnic area at the launch. Pot type toilets are located near the launch.

Regulations for Pine Acres Lake prohibit the use of gasoline motors. Electric motors are permitted, but shallow conditions exist and aquatic vegetation is dense throughout the entire lake.
Fish species in the lake include; largemouth bass, yellow perch, brown bullhead, and sunfish.
