Introduction: What’s Hoppin’ is a new venture aimed at improving the relationship Eastern students have with the town of Willimantic and its many fine businesses. We hope you will take a moment to review this letter and see the incredible opportunity for increased business What's Hoppin' can create for you.
What’s Hoppin’ was launched by two recent ECSU graduates who identified the need for more Eastern students to frequent local businesses. Our personal experience and conversations with past and present students has shown us that the vast majority of Eastern students are incredibly uninformed about the area.
It is our opinion that this is simply ridiculous, and that this ignorance is unnecessary, and certainly not in the best interests of either the students or the town of Willimantic. Eastern students need to know about
the area. Students would frequent Main Street and beyond often if they simply knew what was there. That’s where What's Hoppin' comes in.
We have received permission to distribute a complimentary copy of What’s Hoppin’ to each and every
one of the 2,500 on-campus mailboxes. Copies will also be available for pick up at central campus locations. Our publication will be a combination of a magazine and resource listing, containing original
articles and stories students will find interesting, complimented by a wealth of information on local businesses, organizations and attractions. What's Hoppin' will feature wholly original artwork and photography.
WhatsHoppin.com will contain all the information in our publication and will be continually updated to become an essential resource for students. Feel free to take a look at the site in it’s beta-stage. All advertisers in our first edition will be featured on the Web site through the summer of ’07.
You can’t afford not to take advantage of the opportunity to advertise your business in our2nd edition, scheduled to be printed by the first week of September. Our rates are comparable to local publications,
and offer superior value, because students will refer to What's Hoppin' throughout the semester.

Unfortunately, Eastern students are widely unaware of the great local Businesses and recreational opportunities. With your help, What's Hoppin' will be a first step toward closing this unnecessary gap between you and the college.
